PRATTVILLE AL - 2007 - MEDICS WHO WERE DISPATCHED TO AN ELDERLY WOMAN WITH A SEIZURE ARRIVED AT THE SCENE TO FIND ALSO A YOUNG BOY BEING ATTACKED BY A DOG

On Jan 26, 2007, at 11:27 am Rescue 22 was dispatched to a seizure at 1938 Hwy 82 West in Booth AL.  Upon arrival, Sergeant Medic Andrew Ellison and Fire Medic Josh Bingham noticed  a dog  attacking a young boy.  They immediately rushed to the aid of the boy and placed him in the ambulance and started emergency care, then Bingham provided emergency care for the elderly woman with a seizure.

Rescue 24 was called for assistance and Sergeant Medic Ricky Roberts and Fire Medic Craig Allen arrived on scene and took over care of the seizure patient and transported her to Baptist South.  Rescue 22 transported the young boy to Jackson's Hospital Emergency Room.  Sergeant Ellison provided care to him during transport including establishing an IV and oxygen therapy.  The boy sustained injuries to the right shoulder and head.  He was released that afternoon from Jackson's Emergency Room.
