KIRBYVILLE TX - PIT BULL ATTACK RIPS HALF OF PAT SORENSEN'S FACE OFF - SHE TOOK HER HANDS AND TRIED TO PUSH HER NOSE AND CHEEK BACK ON HER FACE
PATRICIA "PAT" SORENSEN AGE 61
Feb 17, 2009 - Kirbyville Tx - Pat Sorensen and her husband owned the Belli Deli. Ricky Byrd worked for her husband. He often brought the dog to work with him but would leave it in the truck. On Feb. 17 he asked his wife, Amanda Byrd, to take the Pit Bull and the truck home and he would call her to pick him up from work. She left but for some reason came back to the restaurant and brought the dog on a leash inside the deli. Pat Sorensen had gone to her home a short distance from the restaurant and was returning to the restaurant. As she stepped up on the porch approaching the door, the door popped open and the dog lunged out and bit her face and then bit her neck barely missing an artery. She remembers taking her hands and pushing her nose back and holding her cheek to her face. A person at the scene had to place her right check in a container with ice.
