Dangerous dog attacks horse and rider in Epsom
Fri - Apr 6, 2012 - A dangerous dog attacked  a 20-year-old horse named "TANGO"  last week causing the horse to bolt across a road where it was hit by a car and sustained fatal injuries.  The attack happened at 6 pm on Horton Lane, Epsom, on Thursday, March 29, when the horse, carrying its owner Beth Oakes, was walking along a bridle path near to the road.

Police seized the dog, which was later put down.  Under the dangerous Dogs Act, PIT BULL TERRIERS are banned in the UK, and this type of dog may include Irish Staffordshire Terriers.

Miss Oakes kept her horse at the Horton Farm Livery on Hook road.  The owner Seymour Bourne, went to see it at Horton Lane before it was put down. He said the horse had broken its front leg and its shoulder. He said there were quite a lot of these dogs around the area now and that dog owners must take more responsibility because several horses have been chased whilst riding in Horton County Park and it is not a good experience to be chased by a dog hanging off your horse.

THE OWNER WAS IN A MOBILITY SCOOTER AND HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE DOG AT
ALL.

This picture on my post looks almost like 3 of the 4 pit bulls that were next door to me.

I read this story on another site also. Someone suggested that "dogs" be required to be muzzled in public. This infuriates me because it's not the generic "dog" that keeps doing these things. It's the specific "pit bulls" that continuously attack people and other animals. I'm sick to death of pit bulls causing double havoc -first to their innocent victims, then to dogs in general from the legislation that follows that seems to target all dogs because the legislators are too cowardly to target just the culprits....PIT BULLS!

That UGLY mutant looks A LOT like the one that lives next door to me! GROSS! I don't get what the hell people see in these ugly mongrel dogs! YUK!

This is the saddest story. That poor owner of this horse, lost her horse and her best friend (I'm sure) in the most brutal way, and the damn mutant owner gets a stupid little fine!!! DON'T VICTIMS HAVE RIGHTS TOO?! This kind of thing pisses me off! I'm so sick of hearing stories like this. My heart goes out to the owner of this poor horse. THE LAWS NEED CHANGING!!!!

I want a FEDERAL LAW enacted that states, it's illegal to breed any pit bull type dog, and illegal to adopt them out. Let the mutants go extinct!!! I HATE THESE DOGS AND THEIR VILE OWNERS!!!
