Monday - May 21, 2012 - There has been another deadly  PIT BULL  attack and this time it was at a child's soccer game in Roswell.  The victim was a little Pomeranian and it happened in front of a lot of children

Lisa Pickard was walking with her family along the field after her 6-year-old son's soccer game.  Her 9-year-old daughter had the family's Pomeranian, PRINCESS, on a leash when a Pit Bull tore the tiny dog from her grip as the family passed.  Lisa Pickard attempted to get the leash back but it was too late.  Their beloved family's pet was dead.  Witnesses say that it happened right in front of the family and it was just gruesome..

Princess had been a part of the family for nearly 2 years since she was a puppy.  Pickard said they've taken Princess to parades and soccer games and have never seen a dog act aggressively toward her. The PIT BULL that attacked Princess was on a leash, but no one was holding the leash at the time.

Her 9-year-old daughter is taking it the hardest.  She was screaming and saying that she was never coming back to a soccer field again and not playing soccer again.

MONDAY AFTERNOON A JUDGE DECIDED TO RELEASE THE PIT BULL BACK TO IT'S OWNER.  THE OWNER WAS GIVEN CITATIONS FOR RUNNING AT LARGE AND VICIOUS ANIMAL.

This is utterly horrific. When I think of how many ball games, parades, fairs, and community events I've been to as a child, all with dogs brought to them, and never one incident that I recall of any kind of skirmish, let alone horrific fatal mauling, I just can't fathom how this affected all those people, many of them children.

It is one thing that pit bulls are dangerous. It is another that these idiots insist on taking them to crowded events with normal dogs and families.

I know there were unfriendly, aggressive dogs in my town growing up. One big difference was they weren't pit bulls and the other is that the owners of those dogs, however bad they were as dog owners, had the decency to KEEP THEIR MAULERS HOME.

What kind of judge gives the dog back. The only possible good could be that so many people were traumatized by this incident and that a good number will be moved to contact their councilmen and mayor. Hope enough people will get moved to speak out!

@ SNACK DOG : i agree that things definitely are worse than in the past . whereas nasty dangerous dogs were around before , they were in the minority and perhaps their owners werent apparently in denial about what they had. nowadays we have a different situation in which people have to have these purpose bred killers and even when they do kill , the idiot owners and supporters have this sense of entitlement about what has happened and their role in it. i honestly believe that many of these incidents are deliberately caused or at least allowed by the scum-bag owners.
