DARGAVILLE, NORTHLAND NEW ZEALAND - A PIT BULL ATTACKED A MAN JUST AFTER HE WAS IN A CAR WRECK WITH HIS WIFE AND WAS SEEKING HELP

Monday - July 9, 2012 - A man and his wife were in an accident on Saturday about 9:30 am when, because of the fog, they lost control of their vehicle and flew through the air and hit a tree.  The man got out of  the car to check on his wife who was battered and bruised but not badly injured, so he went to seek help. When he got back to his car.........THIS PIT BULL CAME FROM THE PLACE NEXT DOOR AND LATCHED ON TO HIS LEG !!!

A nearby resident came with his tractor to tow the vehicle out and he was surprised that their injuries from the wreck were not serious but then he witnessed this Pit Bull  attack the man and bite a chunk out of his leg.  He helped the victim chase the dog away and they called the police and the dog was taken away by animal control.

"IT'S LUCKY THE DOG DIDN'T GET TO HIS WIFE IN THE CAR FIRST.  SHE WOULDN'T  HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DEFEND HERSELF AT ALL. IT WAS PRETTY DISTRESSING, BUT WHAT WAS MORE UPSETTING WAS THAT THE PEOPLE IN THE HOUSE WHERE THE DOG CAME FROM DIDN'T COME TO RENDER ANY ASSISTANCE, EITHER FOR THE ACCIDENT OR THEIR DOG ATTACKING THE MAN. THERE WERE YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE HOUSE AND THE DOG APPEARED TO HAVE CHEWED ITS WAY THROUGH ITS LEAD BEFORE ATTACKING THE MAN."
