HOT SPRINGS AR - A PIT BULL ATTACKED DONNY MOORE'S FACE LAST THANKSGIVING - HE WAS UNABLE TO EAT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS !!!

$40,000 MEDICAL BILLS - MULTIPLE SURGERIES - NERVE DAMAGE TO THE LOWER PART OF HIS FACE - JUDGEMENT PROOF PIT NUTTER - HE WAS FORCED TO FILE BANKRUPTCY

Donny Moore, a Springdale florist,  was headed to Hot Springs last November 23, 2011, for Thanksgiving when he saw a small dog that had been run over on Fox Pass Road. When he got out of his car to check on it , he was attacked by a  PIT BULL.  He had severe injuries to his lower face and his mouth was sewn shut for 3 months.

Now after multiple surgeries he is left with nerve damage in the lower part of his face and he still has a lot of dental work to be done.   With no health insurance, he has been unable to pay some $40,000  in medical bills stemming from the attack and has subsequently filed for bankruptcy protection.

The owner of the Pit Bull, Katrina Dexter, was ordered by a Garland County District Judge to pay fines and restitution in the case.  She has since moved to Appleton WI, and has not paid anything.

DONNY MOORE HAS URGED THE GARLAND COUNTY QUORUM COURT TO ADOPT A PROPOSED AMENDMENT STRENGTHENING THE COUNTY'S VICIOUS DOG ORDINANCE.  THE QUORUM COURT'S PUBLIC HEALTH, WELFARE AND SAFETY COMMITTEE IS DISCUSSING THE AMENDMENT, WHICH WOULD REQUIRE COUNTY RESIDENTS TO KEEP THEIR DOGS CONFINED TO THEIR PROPERTY OR RISK FINES AND JAIL TIME.  HE SPECULATES THAT HAD THE AMENDED ORDINANCE BEEN IN EFFECT LAST NOVEMBER 23, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO HIM !!!
