MEGHAN REYNOLDS, 13, was walking with a friend in Herrington Country Park in Sunderland when they came upon a woman with a GERMAN SHEPHERD dog being held on a long lead. Her friend stopped to pet the dog and it suddenly grabbed Meghan and knocked her down and began biting her face. She had to undergo 4 hours of surgery requiring 48 stitches. The owners are said to be devastated as their dog had been well cared for and had always lived with children.
