Nearly 4 years ago a business savy woman (Leslie Gudel) developed an infant recliner designed to help "what the hell is sleep again" parents of newborns.
On Wednesday, prompted by 5 infant deaths, the nap nanny has been declared "a substantial hazard" and a regulatory authority is seeking legal advice to have this product pulled from the market.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) filed an administrative complaint within the agency against Gudel's company, Baby Matters L.L.C. of Berwyn, seeking a mandatory recall of its chairs and refunds for all who bought them. Commission spokesman Scott Wolfson called it "a rare and serious step," only the fourth time in 11 years it has been taken.
I bet you can see where I'm going with this. I wonder if society in general is applauding this move, good lordy, we would assume anytime a move is made to save children, isn't that a good thing? Whoa, back up the bus though. I wonder how some of our star little nutters would feel if they found that their little one had just fallen asleep in a nap nanny? Would they get on their little high horse and rant and rave about the utter lack of responsibility this woman has/had? I wonder if they would rant and rave while the pit they owned licked the baby to death while it slept in the nap nanny.
5 infant deaths in almost 4 years is 5 too many....but how many more infants will have to die before pits are looked at in the same regard as the nap nanny?
Why are they so willing to risk it??? When they post this photo, it's cute, and awww.... What a great baby sister. The nutter that posted this, the caption is "don't worry I will take care of your baby :)" To us it's infanticide, plain and simple. When they post it, it's an example of how great the dogs are. When it goes bad, they stab the person they just praised in the back with, "Why the hell would you leave your child alone with a dog?"
Of all the photos I've seen, this one scares me the most.........
But I digress....back to the nap nanny and the fact it could be pulled from shelves. I imagine the parents that lost their children to this product will have some form of closure when/if the regulatory body can make the recall happen, for those parents, I'm happy you deserve that closure. But so do we. It's time for social justice for victims of pit bulls.
