This is horrible and I hope she recovers quickly. That said; how can you NOT know these dogs are dangerous unless you live in a cave? Have you NOT seen these attacks in the news? In the paper? Do you not know how to use the internet and a search engine?

yep , truly terrible , but sleep with pitbulls and you may end up with rather more than just fleas.

These tragedies are entirely preventable. Don't own a fighting dog as a pet. Don't live with or visit anyone who does. Don't let anyone who does babysit your kids.

She was breeding and selling these things for a little off the books income.

How many of these Darwin Pitties were trafficked into the local community?

“My ordinance is not to ban or get rid of pit bulls. It is to make the owners more responsible for their animals,” -Councilman Glenn Green

What happened to Ms. Henry is tragic and I pray she finds closure. However, by as one of her pit bulls had puppies, it's clear she was breeding them for profit. This makes her not your standard dog owner, this makes her a puppy mill. In the extreme likelihood that she failed to report this income on her tax returns, do you think she would have been inclined, as a non-law abiding citizen, to also obey the very ordinance she now champions?

To be specific, among the conditions Councilman Green's ordinance, ownership of this breed would be limited to three dogs, and she would be required to keep a $100k liability insurance policy. Gauging the tatterdemalion condition of her quaint Westwego home, I doubt she could afford the latter.
