MURRIETA CA - A PIT BULL/MASTIFF MIX ATTACKS 2 PEOPLE - THE 80-YEAR-OLD VICTIM IS IN VERY SERIOUS CONDITION

A large dog said to be a  PIT BULL/MASTIFF MIX   mauled an 80-year-old man leaving him with serious injuries and also bit another man.  Stories are somewhat conflicting and comments to these stories are providing more information.  The attack happened around 9:30am Friday  in the 39000 block of Salinas Drive in the unincorporated community of French Valley. An air-conditioning repairman was the first target of the 90-pound dog.  Then the dog went after the owner's 80-year-old father who was bit in the stomach, both arms, PUNCTURING ARTERIES, and on the back of one of his knees.

A sheriff's deputy arrived and because the dog would not let go, he opened fire shooting multiple rounds stricking the dog 2 times.  The dog did not die but ran off and was found a couple of blocks away. Animal control seized the animal and it was put down.

One has to wonder why the owner trained his dog to attack the air conditioning repair man and his own elderly father. According to pit bull advocacy this is a trained behavior.

He told his dad not to use the AC, but did he listen? No!

so often i hear idiots say that pits are a small dog , trying, i suppose to make them seem less dangerous , or to say it cant be a pit if it weighs over 30 lbs. keep in mind that these are the same fools that say chihuahuas are the worst biters. lol @ fools. these are also the same ones that say there is no actual pitbull breed , lol again . cross a pit with a mastiff and you have a bigger pitbull , quite possibly a dog that will still act like a pitbull. very simple stuff really .
