MACON GA - A FAMILY DOG DESCRIBED AS A PIT BULL MIX OR A MASTIFF MIX ATTACKED THE MOTHER

A family dog described first as a  PIT BULL/CHOW MIX  attacked Sheila Farr, 55,  early Wednesday morning.  Her stepdaughter, Janice Farr, said she was going to call in sick to work and Sheila Farr handed her the phone and the dog began its attack on her.  Janice Farr said she pulled the 100-pound dog off her stepmother 3 times.  She was bitten in the face, arm and leg.

Danny Farr, 64 is recovering from recent surgery and was sitting in the living room with them when his wife was mauled. He describes the dog, named MONK, that the family had since it was a puppy, as protective and a real "GUARD DOG" THAT YOU COULDN'T MAKE ANY QUICK MOVES AROUND.

Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare Officer, Darrell Watts said the white dog looked more like a BULL MASTIFF MIX to him.

SUDDENLY THE PIT NUTTER SPEAK APPEARS.......................

* SHEILA DELIVERED HIM FROM HIS MOTHER.

* I FEED THAT DOG WITH A SPOON.

* HE IS LIKE A BABY.

* WE PROBABLY NOT GOING TO KEEP HIM.  KIDS COME BY AND THROW ROCKS AT HIM IN THE BACKYARD AND THAT MAKES HIM MEANER.

The investigation continues into a dog attack at a home in Brownsville where authorities have removed around 26 dogs after 2 sisters were bitten by their own dogs apparently "OVER A SMALL AMOUNT OF FOOD!!!" All the dogs may have been living inside the home for 7 years.  Neighbors say they have complained to animal control before but nothing was done. The dogs appear to all be small to medium size mixed breeds and the ones in the videos look very thin. The animal ordinance states a residence is allowed to keep only 3 dogs per household.  Investigators have asked that the Department of Adult Services get involved because they found a 91-YEAR-OLD MOTHER  also living inside with the animals.   The Health Department is also involved.

WADDY, SHELBY COUNTY KY - A PIT BULL THAT CAME ONTO JUDY TIPTON"S PROPERTY AND WENT AFTER HORSES AND THEN ATTACKED THEIR PET DOG MAY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MANY MORE ATTACKS ON ANIMALS IN THE AREA

VIDEO

Pets and livestock have been attacked in the Waddy area.  At least a half dozen pets have had to be put down after they were attacked.  Because of the quick thinking and action of Judy Tipton  and her sister last Thursday, authorities may now have the main suspect !!!

When Judy Tipton came home from work last Thursday, she noticed a strange dog on her family's property on Kings Highway.  The dog had been back in the barn and had gone after the horses but had not gone after her daughter at all.  Then it left the barn and went after their parents pet "SPECKLES".  They thought of nothing else but saving Speckles who had puncture wounds on his neck by getting him to a vet fast.

But they first contained the Pit Bull by latching it to a lead line and then calling 911. Officials do not want  to show the animal on camera because they are not sure if it's responsible for all the attacks.

NORTHAMPTONSHIRE ENGLAND - A FAMILY'S PET STAFFORDSHIRE BULL TERRIER THAT HAD NEVER SHOWN ANY AGGRESSION BEFORE ATE OFF THEIR 10-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER'S FOOT !!!!!!!

Smiling: Milly-Anne lost her foot after she was attacked by family pet Rory

Just days before Christmas, December 19,  Milly-Anne Hemley was at home with her 3 other siblings and her mother was at work when their Staffordshire Bull Terrier attempted to bolt out of a door that had been left open and evidently Milly-Anne must have tried to stop him because the dog latched on to her leg and didn't let go.....

"I REMEMBER MY WHOLE BODY SHAKING.  I WAS HUGGING HIS BACK AND SAYING 'IT'S ME RORY.' "

Rory the dog

Her 15-year-old brother was able to pull his sister away from the dog and shut her in the living room for safety......BUT, THE PIT BULL ATTACKED HER FOR A SECOND TIME BITING HER OTHER LEG !!!!!!!!!!

She was rushed to a hospital where surgeons battled for 2 hours to save the young girl's damaged limb. It was just gone...just a piece of bone.  Her injuries were too severe and her mother Paula Warren was asked to give permission to amputate.

Their dog has been put down.  They say the dog had never shown any signs of aggression before !!!!!

NORWICH ENGLAND - A GUIDE DOG TO A BLIND WOMAN WAS ATTACKED BY A "BULL-TERRIER TYPE DOG"

Lesley Smith and her guide dog Unis.

Lesley Smith, 32, is totally blind in her right eye and has limited vision in her left eye.  She has had her guide dog, UNIS,  for 2 years. Unis was attacked outside the Back of the Inns entrance to the Castle Mall last Friday morning by an unleashed dog described as a "BULL TERRIER TYPE DOG".

The dog just came out of nowhere.  Ms. Smith says they are taught to drop the handle if their guide dog  is being attacked so they can try and escape.

"ALL I COULD HEAR WAS UNIS SCREAMING AND I'VE NEVER HEARD HER MAKE A NOISE LIKE THAT BEFORE."

Luckily there was a woman with a bag and she was hitting the attacking dog with her bag to get it off Unis.  The attacking dog was not able to get its teeth deep into Unis.  Ms. Smith was able to sit down and people came to help her and checked Unis out.  She then called  the Peterborough office of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association for advice.  A local Police Community Support Officer also came and assisted her.

The association is campaigning for compulsory microchipping of all dogs in England and Wales, for police forces to take attacks on guide dogs more seriously and for attacks on guide dogs to be treated in law as an attack on its owner.

With more than 8 reported attacks on guide dogs a month, the trauma caused by these unprovoked attacks could leave a blind or partially sighted person a virtual prisoner in their own home. As well as physical injuries, each dog attack leaves a deep psychological scar for both the owner and the guide dog.  In the worst cases guide dogs have to be retired early, in others they are left unable to work for a significant amount of time.

ALBUQUERQUE NM - A PACK OF DOGS ATTACKED A 4-YEAR-OLD GIRL AS SHE PLAYED IN THE BACKYARD

A 4-year-old girl was hospitalized on Monday after several dogs dug under a fence and attacked her in her Grandmother's backyard.  The girl's mother says she ran out to get the dogs off her daughter and was bitten by the Husky on her hand.  The child received 75 stitches and A DOG'S TOOTH WAS REMOVED FROM HER SCALP!!!  The mother stated that the Husky appeared to be the most aggressive and had her daughter's blood on him but the other dogs were joining in the pack.

Police arrested 2 owners of the dogs on PREVIOUS ANIMAL VIOLATIONS AND TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS.  As many as 5 dogs were seized and 2 more were taken later. The owners claim that only 1 of their dogs got out to attack the child and the rest of the dogs were other neighbor's dogs.

The Husky and possibly German Shepherds have been named as the neighbor's dog breeds.  Different videos have shown possibly an English Bulldog and a small white dog possibly a house dog.  These could have been some of the other neighbors dogs that were found in the area.

BURIEN, KING COUNTY WA - A PIT BULL WITH JUST A ROPE AROUND ITS NECK BEING HELD BY A "RESPONSIBLE OWNER" LUNGED AT A MAN JOGGING WITH HIS 2 PETS - HIS GOLDENDOODLE WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED AND HIS HAND WAS BROKEN !!!

Burien man and his dog survive vicious pit bull attack

Matt Crockett and his 2 dogs were running their usual 5-mile route in Shorewood Monday when a  "PIT BULL WITH A ROPE AROUND ITS NECK"  lunged at his 6-year-old Golden-Doodle Brody.  The man holding the rope lost grip of it and totally lost control of his Pit Bull.

The attack lasted about 4-5 minutes and Crockett hit the Pit first with his fists which didn't seem to phase the animal.  He then began hitting it with his 5-pound weights he carries on runs.  Finally the Pit Bull let go and Brody went running terrorized into the street.....

THE NUTTER AND HIS MUTANT PIT TOOK OFF AND A WITNESS FOLLOWED THEM TO A CHURCH WHERE DEPUTIES FINALLY QUESTIONED THE MAN.  BUT THE DEPUTIES WERE CALLED AWAY BEFORE ANIMAL CONTROL GOT THERE AND WHEN THEY DID ARRIVE, THE  MAN AND HIS DOG WERE GONE.

Eric Swansen with the Regional Animal Services of King County says they are taking this attack very serious because the Pit Bull could claim another victim.  Matt Crockett has a broken hand that may need surgery and Brody his Golden-Doodle will need months to recover.

AND AT  THE END OF THIS ARTICLE WE ARE GIVEN THE  "USELESS FAMOUS WORDS"  REPEATED OVER AND OVER AGAIN BY THE HUMANE SOCIETY-----

"IF YOU EVER ENCOUNTER A DOG YOU THINK MIGHT ATTACK, THE HUMANE SOCIETY SUGGESTS YOU RESIST THE URGE TO RUN OR SCREAM.  STAY WITH YOUR ARMS AT YOUR SIDE AND AVOID EYE CONTACT WITH THE DOG.  WHEN THE DOG LOSES INTEREST, SLOWLY BACK AWAY."

I DON'T THINK MATT CROCKETT HAD A SPLIT SECOND TO THINK ABOUT RESISTING THE URGE TO RUN OR SCREAM AS THE PIT LUNGED AT THEM AND AS HE ATTEMPTED TO PRY THE PIT OFF WITH THE OWNER OF THE DOG STANDING THERE, I DON'T THINK HE THOUGHT ABOUT EYE CONTACT WITH THE PIT OR HAD TIME TO WONDER IF IT WAS GOING TO LOSE INTEREST SO THEY COULD BACK AWAY.  MOST ADVICE FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN ATTACKED BY A PIT BULL WILL SAY TO FEED ANY ARTICLE YOU ARE CARRYING OR YOUR ARM TO THE PIT'S MOUTH  TO KEEP IT FROM BITING DOWN ON YOUR NECK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STEELVILLE MO - A PIT BULL CHARGED OUT A FRONT DOOR AND KILLED A NEIGHBOR'S CHIHUAHUA - THE PIT WAS EUTHANIZED AND THE VICTIM'S OWNER WANTS TO MAKE SURE GUIDELINES FOR VICIOUS DOGS ARE FOLLOWED

THIS WAS THE 3RD DOG THE PIT BULL HAD KILLED. THE CHIHUAHUA'S OWNER, TIM CASSIDY, SAYS HE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT THE CITY'S RESTRICTIONS ON VICIOUS DOGS IN THE HOPES OF PREVENTING ANOTHER SUCH TRAGEDY ON A PET OR EVEN A PERSON INJURED OR KILLED.

Tim Cassidy said that his tiny pet was on the sidewalk in front of his home when the  PIT BULL  broke out through the front door and came over and dragged his pet into the street killing it.  Cassidy attended a meeting of the Steelville aldermen on January 7 to talk about the city's restrictions on vicious dogs.

The mayor noted that the Pit Bull had been involved in previous instances and an alderman that lives close to both homes involved stated that this incident hit close to home and he questioned the policies involved in protecting people and pets from such an animal.

POLICE CHIEF LYDLE DAVIS FEELS THE RULES ARE SUFFICIENT BUT HE PLANS TO CONTINUE VIGILANCE ON ENSURING THE GUIDELINES ARE ENFORCED.  THREE SECTIONS OF CITY ORDINANCES REFER TO A SITUATION SUCH AS THIS ONE:

1.  SECTION 73.070 - IS TITLED "VICIOUS ANIMALS" AND STATES IN PART:  IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO OWN, KEEP, HARBOR, OR ALLOW TO BE ON HIS OR HER PREMISES ANY ANIMAL OF A DANGEROUS, VICIOUS, OR FEROCIOUS DISPOSITION.

2.  SECTION 73.140 IS TITLED "DANGEROUS ANIMALS" AND INCLUDES A DETAILED DEFINITION OF SUCH AN ANIMAL , THE PROCEDURE INVOLVED IN DECLARING AN ANIMAL TO BE DANGEROUS, AND REQUIREMENTS FOR A PERSON TO KEEP SUCH AN ANIMAL WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS.  THESE ANIMALS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE CITY AND PAY A LICENSE FEE.  CITY PERSONNEL MUST PHOTOGRAPH THE ANIMAL AND IT MUST WEAR A BRIGHT ORANGE COLLAR AND REGISTRATION TAGS AT ALL TIMES.  IT MUST BE SECURELY CONFINED EITHER INDOORS OR IN A SECURELY ENCLOSED AND LOCKED PEN THAT IS 6 FEET TALL WITH A TOP AND THE WALLS SECURED OR EVEN EMBEDDED IN THE GROUND AT LEAST 24 INCHES.  A SIGN MUST BE POSTED ON THE PROPERTY AND $100,000 LIABILITY INSURANCE.

3.  CHAPTER 73.480 -  THIS SECTION IS DEVOTED ENTIRELY TO PIT BULLS - IT IS UNLAWFUL TO OWN A PIT BULL UNLESS LICENSED AND REGISTERED WITH THE CITY AND UNLESS COMPLIANT WITH PARTICULAR REGULATIONS.

***********************************************************************

INCLUDED IN THIS SECTION:  A PIT BULL OUTSIDE ITS FENCE MUST BE SECURELY LEASHED AND MUZZLED.  THEY MUST BE KEPT IN A PEN THAT IS SECURELY LOCKED AND THE SIDES EMBEDDED IN THE GROUND AT LEAST 12 INCHES.  PIT BULLS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE IN A HOME WHEN WINDOWS ARE OPEN OR SCREENS ARE THE ONLY ITEM PREVENTING THEIR ESCAPE.  THE SIGNAGE REQUIRED MUST STATE "BEWARE PIT BULL HERE."  LIABILITY INSURANCE OF $50,000 IS REQUIRED.

************************************************************************

Tim Cassidy said that his sister was at his home the day his Chihuahua was killed and she ran out to try and save it.  She could have been hurt by the Pit Bull.  He also stated that the Pit Bull had got out several times before from doors in its home that do not open up into a fenced-in area. The fenced-in area for the Pit Bull was not compliant either.

It was pointed out that the Police Chief should be the one who verifies that the regulations for owning such an animal are being followed.  There are no other Pit Bulls currently registered with the city but there are other Pit Bulls in the city.  It was agreed that a "CHECK LIST"  should be created from the city ordinances for the police to follow.  Chief Davis said this:

"I WATCH FOR PIT BULLS.  I PATROL ALL THE TIME AND WATCH FOR THEM.  I SEE WHO HAS THEM AND GET THEM OUT OF THE CITY LIMITS FOR SAFETY."

UPDATE WITH VIDEO

A 6-year-old girl was attacked by a  PIT BULL  on Belle Oaks Drive just before 5 pm Monday afternoon.  This is the 2nd Pit Bull attack in Greenwood County in the last week. In the first attack a woman was killed by her son's  family PIT BULL  when she was babysitting her grandchildren.

On this last attack, police responded to an animal bite and the victim's father told deputies that he and his daughter were out on their bikes when they came across an older male walking 2 dogs, one being a Pit Bull.  The father says that he asked if the dogs were friendly and the older man said they were.  The father then petted the Pit Bull on the head...

THE DAUGHTER THEN LAID HER BIKE DOWN AND THE PIT BULL LUNGED AT HER BITING HER ON THE EAR.  HER FATHER HIT THE DOG IN THE HEAD.  THE PIT BULL RELEASED HER EAR AND THEN BIT HER ON THE FOOT.  THE FATHER THEN BEAT THE PIT ON THE HEAD AGAIN TO MAKE IT RELEASE HER FOOT........THE PIT NUTTER THEN WALKED OFF LEAVING THE FATHER TO CARE FOR THE GIRL.

Deputies canvassed the neighborhood and located the 2 dogs at a home on Belle Oaks Drive.  Two witnesses told deputies that the man walking the dogs did not attempt to pull the dog off of the girl either time it bit her.  She was taken to the emergency room at Self Regional Healthcare.

Judy Gregory holds her cat, Scarlet, outside her Fort Lauderdale home in November, just days after a dog named Kush reportedly jumped the fence and attacked Scarlet while she slept in the kitchen doorway.

"WE'RE ALL AFRAID.  THE PIT BULL WENT AFTER ANOTHER DOG AND KILLED ANOTHER CAT.  HE NEEDS A MUZZLE.  I DON'T WANT ANY DOG PUT TO SLEEP BUT HE NEEDS A BETTER FENCE."

Judy Gregory's 14-year-old cat survived the attack on November 16, 2012, but was so traumatized she didn't come out of hiding for 3 days.  Gregory testified about the day the  PIT BULL cleared her 6-foot fence and attacked Scarlet as she slept in her kitchen doorway.  She was sitting with her daughter in the yard as the Pit invaded their yard and her daughter kept jerking the dog's choke chain and pounding it on the head until it finally let go.  Animal Control spoke to the owner, Courtney Burrage, who said the Pit Bull was also jumping over its fence to get out.

LEESBURG, LAKE COUNTY FL - A PIT BULL RAN LOOSE AND THEN ENTERED AN INVISIBLE FENCE TO ATTACK A BELOVED PET "JADA" - TOTAL COST $13,200 !!!

Jada, an 8-year-old cocker spaniel that was attacked by a pit bull.

On December 8, Dave and Jane Hamby, snowbirds from Indiana, were at their vacation home the family has owned for 40 years near Leesburg.  They have an invisible fence around their yard and their 2 dogs, Silky Chocolate Spaniels, Jada and Trapper, were snoozing on the patio when a neighbor's 100-pound female brindle  PIT BULL  ran loose.

Another neighbor saw the Pit running loose and picked up the phone but it was too late!!!  The Pit had already invaded the Hamby's yard regardless of the "INVISIBLE FENCE" and Jada had already started screaming so the neighbor picked up a gun and ran to the Hamby's yard but he could not get a clear shot.

Jane Hamby got Trapper away from the Pit Bull but Jada was in danger.  Dave Hamby, a 57-year-old retiree, got between the Pit Bull and his pet and reached down to pick it up.  But he lost his balance and went down.  The Pit Bull sunk her teeth into Jada's stomach and began shaking her.  He got the large Pit Bull into a full nelson and tried to force her to drop his Spaniel.

"I WRESTLED THAT DOG FOR 15 MINUTES AND I COULD NOT PRY HER JAWS OFF!!!"

He ended up punching the Pit Bull again and again in the face.  One of the owners had been standing at a distance watching the attack and stepped in finally and took the dog away.  Later the owner complained about Hamby beating his dog !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because of the seriousness of the injuries, Jada wound up at the University of Florida Animal Clinic needing one surgery after another....

TOTAL COSTS $13,200  ---- They say if they had known before hand what the price would be, they probably would not have done it.  But not having children, these dogs are like their children.  Lake County's Animal Control Department wanted to cite the owners of the Pit Bull and haul them before a special master, but the Hambys had to return home and didn't want the expense of having to return back to Florida for court proceedings.

The owner of the Pit Bull vowed to help with the vet bills but so far the Hamby's haven't seen a nickel.

      !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAVE HAMBY WAS BITTEN 8 TIMES BY THE FEMALE BRINDLE PIT BULL AS HE FOUGHT TO SAVE HIS PET  ---------  HE'S VERY LUCKY HE DIDN'T HAVE A HEART ATTACK.

*****THE PIT BULL STILL LIVES JUST DOWN THE ROAD*****

PIT NUTTER OFFERS UP EXCUSES:  "WE'VE HAD IT SINCE IT WAS A PUP AND IT HAD NEVER SHOWED SIGNS OF AGGRESSION BEFORE.  THE BOYS WERE PLAYING AND ACTING ROWDY....THE BOY STARED AT MY PIT !!!"

UPDATE:  THEY MADE THE DECISION TO OPERATE ON THE PIT BULL FIRST BEFORE EUTHANIZING IT SO THE DRUG WOULD NOT EFFECT THE BOY'S NOSE IN THE DOG'S STOMACH.

A 10-year-old boy was taken to Kosairs Children's Hospital in Louisville today after he sustained serious facial injuries after being bitten by a  PIT BULL.  Deputies were told by the attending physician that the boy's nose had been bitten off at a home off Highway 136 West.  The Pit Bull had apparently eaten the nose after biting the child.

Deputies and Animal Control Officers then took control of the dog after they could not locate the nose at the residence.  The nose was retrieved from the dog's stomach via surgery.  It was then transported with the boy to Kosairs for further treatment.

THE DOG'S OWNER SAID....

HE HAD HAD THE DOG SINCE IT WAS A PUPPY AND IT HAS NEVER SHOWN ANY SIGNS OF AGGRESSION.

THOMASTON GA - A WOMAN THAT WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED WHEN 2 LOOSE DOGS ATTACKED HER FOUND HERSELF BEING CHASED BY THE SAME DOGS ONCE AGAIN !!!

(AFTER READING THIS STORY ABOUT 5 TIMES, I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS -  FIRST OF ALL THAT BASSET HOUND IS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AFTER BEING FORCED TO LIVE WITH A PIT BULL !!!  DID THE BASSET HOUND BITE HER OR WAS IT RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOCKING HER DOWN AND BREAKING HER LEG?  DID IT BITE HER BUTTOCKS??  DID IT BITE HER EAR OFF?  WHY WAS THE BASSET HOUND NOT PUT TO SLEEP ALSO???)

On August 5, 2012, Kendra Fagan was walking by a field on Kendall Drive when she was attacked by a PIT BULL and a BASSET HOUND.  She suffered 2 broken bones in her right leg and a dog bite to her buttocks, and her right lower ear was bitten off.

Animal Control seized the dogs and their owner, Cheryl Walden, attended a hearing held by animal Control.  She said the dogs had gotten out of the house by accident.

BOTH DOGS WERE DEEMED VICIOUS AND BY GEORGIA LAW THEY COULD NOT BE KEPT IN THE SAME YARD. ANIMAL CONTROL DIRECTOR, SMART WEB,  SAID THAT THE WALDEN'S MOTHER  TOOK THE PIT BULL HOME WITH HER TO BARNESVILLE.

However, on December 26, Fagan was walking to her aunt's house near Walden's home when the PIT BULL AND BASSET HOUND appeared and began chasing her.  This time she was able to get back to her car and get inside before they reached her and she called for assistance.

Upson County Sheriff's Deputy James Hollis responded and took her statement then he approached the Walden home and the 2 dogs were loose in the yard and began barking and growling at him.  No one was home so he called animal control.  The next day Smart Web talked to Cheryl Walden and she told him that her mother had been sick and unable to care for the PIT BULL so she had brought it back to her.

HE FOUND HER IN VIOLATION OF HAVING 2 VICIOUS DOGS IN THE SAME YARD AND HE CONFISCATED THE PIT BULL.  THEN CHERYL WALDEN'S MOTHER, CINDY BROOKS, CAME TO ANIMAL CONTROL AND SIGNED THE PIT BULL OVER TO ANIMAL CONTROL AND WEB SAID THE DOG WAS PUT TO SLEEP ON DECEMBER 28.
