GATINEAU QC CANADA - A PIT BULL AND A LABRADOR ATTACKED AN ELDERLY MAN IN THE COURTYARD OF HIS RESIDENCE - HERO - A 26-YEAR-OLD MAN CAME TO HIS AID AND WAS ALSO BITTEN

Gatineau police are investigating after two men were badly bitten by dogs Tuesday.
The attacks occurred around 12:30 p.m., when a 75-year-old man was set upon by two dogs in the courtyard of his residence. He was bitten on his calf, hands and head. A neighbour who saw the attack, a 26-year-old man, tried to intervene and was also bitten on his calf and hand.
The dogs were gone by the time Gatineau police arrived, but officers were soon able to find the owner, who lived nearby. The 51-year-old man told police he owned one of the dogs, a Labrador, and was caring for the second animal, which was a pit-bull-type breed. Both animals are now in the care of animal-control officers while police conduct their investigation.
Both victims were treated for injuries in the hospital, and one was taken there by ambulance.
