LIVINGSTON, MADISON COUNTY IL - A DOBERMAN PINSCHER ATTACKED A LEGALLY BLIND TEENAGE GIRL - VIDEO SAYS OWNERS WILL EUTHANIZE IT

VIDEO

A neighborhood dog attacked a legally blind teenage girl in Madison County Saturday, leaving scars all over her body.
Police say the dog attack happened near the intersection of Walnut Street and South 2nd Street in Livingston around 6:00 Saturday afternoon. Makayla Reeves, 13, suffered dog bites to both arms. She also suffered scars to the left side of her stomach and her knee.
The DOBERMAN PINSCHER is still with its owner but it can't leave the home. Madison County Animal Control administrator Dr. David Hall says the dog was placed on a 10 day quarantine, so for now, the dog can't leave the house.
Reeves was released from the hospital on Saturday but her family still wants authorities to do more than place the dog on quarantine. There are no reports of the Doberman Pinscher attacking anyone else.
Livingston Police are investigating whether the dog has bitten anyone else in the past. Animal Control will evaluate the dog to determine if it no longer needs to be quarantined within 10 days.

The dog mauled someone, and should be put down. I hope the owner meant it when he said that was the case.

He also said he'd get rid of his other two dogs because they were hard to control, especially without a fence. Not sure how to feel about this one. Allegedly, one of them has bit before. If this is true, that could easily spin into a problem. Obviously.
