GAINESVILLE FL - A DOG (SEE THE VIDEO) ADOPTED THE DAY BEFORE BY A FAMILY ATTACKED THEIR 2-YEAR-OLD GIRL

A two-year-old girl is in recovery after being bitten in the face by her family dog. That dog was adopted just the day before during a weekend adoption event in Alachua County. The toddler's parents say she was playing in the front yard when it happened.

Alachua County Sheriff's Office responded to a call Sunday evening regarding the incident.  The girl and her parents rushed to UF Health/Shands Children's Hospital where she underwent facial reconstructive surgery.  Animal services officials are still investigating what caused the attack.

The dog is currently with animal services where it will be placed under quarantine for ten days.

When facial reconstructive surgery is involved, you know it's got to be a pit. Poor child. This is what the lies lead to. Prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

But pit bulls score high on temperament tests!

Wait, I'm assuming it was a nanny dog that was brought home to play with this 2-year-old child.

It's all in how you raise them!

Oh look! I found Alachua County's Humane Society's adoption event from this weekend, and there's a picture of an adorable pit bull posing with a bandanna (where's the tutu?) front and center!

Great job Alachua County Humane Society! Another innocent child has her face rearranged thanks to your efforts!
