KYLE TX - 4 PIT BULL MIXES ATTACKED A WOMAN WALKING HER DOG - SHE WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL AND HER DOG DIED AT THE VET
Four dogs attacked a woman and her dog in a Kyle neighborhood Thursday morning, killing the woman’s dog and sending her to the hospital, officials said.
The attacked happened at about 6 a.m. in the 100 block of Cushman Road in the Waterlead neighborhood off of RM 150, Kyle spokesman Jerry Hendrix said. Paramedics transported the woman to an unspecified hospital.
Her condition was not immeidately available, officials said. Her dog died while in surgery, Hendrix said.
After the attack, police located the owner of the four dogs, which are believed to be pitbull mixes. The owner voluntarily surrendered the dogs to animal control, which euthanized the dogs and tested them for rabies. Results on Friday showed none of the dogs had rabies, Hendrix said.
Police cited the dogs’ owner for failing to provide proof of vaccination, Hendrix said. Police continue to investigate and the owner may face further charges, Hendrix said.
Police had not released the owner’s identity Friday.
