LANDER WY - A COUPLE'S PIT BULL SUDDENLY ATTACKED THE MAN AS HE WAS DOING YARD WORK - THEN IT WENT AFTER THE WOMAN - THE MAN WAS FORCED TO STAB HIS PIT
A family dog attacked two members of it’s human family Tuesday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Canyon Street in Lander, sending both to the hospital with serious leg injuries.
According to a Lander Police Report, the two victims, a male and a female in their late 20’s, were in their back yard. The male was doing yard work and was rolling up a cord when THE FAMILY'S PIT BULL suddenly attacked, latching on to its owners leg on the calf. After it finally let go, the dog then went after the female half. The report said the owner’s stabbed the dog twice in the neck to get it to let go of the woman. When police arrived the dog was Tased and subdued and was taken to impound. The woman, according to the police report, required surgery to repair the damage to her calf. The man was treated an released.
The report indicated no one knew what set the dog off as there was nothing out of the ordinary going on until the dog struck.
