MACON, BIBB COUNTY GA - A NEIGHBOR'S PIT BULL LEAPT UP OVER A FENCE AND ATTACKED A MAN CHECKING HIS FENCE BOARDS - THE PIT BIT A PLUG OUT OF THE VICTIM'S NOSE

A Macon man inspecting his fence was seriously injured when he was attacked Monday night and bitten by a neighbor’s pit bull.
On Tuesday, someone at the man’s house on Oakland Hills Drive said the dog bit “a plug” out of the 41-year-old victim’s nose.
The man was said to be recuperating at a city hospital.
A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office report of the incident said that about 9 p.m. Monday, the man was checking nails in his wooden fence in a neighborhood that lies across Williamson Road from Central Georgia Technical College.
That’s when the black-and-white pit bull pounced, the report said.
An animal control officer took the dog. Its owner wasn’t home. A citation was pending for failure to restrain the dog.
