OMSK RUSSIA - PRYING THE PIT OFF - A DOG WALKER ATTEMPTS TO BEAT A PIT OFF HER LABRADOR WITH A POOPER SCOOPER

VIDEO

Attack: The woman decided to try to separate the dogs using a pooper scooper, hitting the pitbull repeadtedlyDisgust: Other horrified people yelled encouragement as she tried to break the fight up

When the pit bull attacked the Labrador walking along a Russian street, it probably thought the odds were tipped in its favour.  What it hadn't counted on was one angry dog walker, armed with a pooper scooper and a fair amount of aggression.  The woman repeatedly smacked the vicious animal across the head as she desperately tried to get it to release the beloved pet.

Vicious: But the dog would not let go of the black Labrador's neck, which it was savagingHurt: The Labrador is understood to have been badly injured in the attack

The incident, which was captured on video, took place in the southern Russian city of Omsk earlier this week, at about 6pm in the evening.   It captures the moments just after the pit bull grabs hold of the black Labrador around its neck - sending people running down the street to its aid.  The first man on the scene throws a bucket of water over the dogs, but it has little affect and the pit bull goes on savaging its victim.

It is then the young woman takes matters into her own hands, repeatedly beating the pit bull over its head in an attempt to get it to release its grip.

In the background, an older woman can be heard yelling: 'Go on! Punch the dog!'
But her efforts are in vain, and the attack continued until other people arrived and managed to kick the pit bull off, which was not caught on camera.

The dog walker and the severely injured Labrador then run to a nearby doorway and close themselves in for the next 30 minutes, awaiting the pit bull owner to arrive.  But when he finally did show up, he left without leaving his name.
Police have confirmed they are looking for the pit bull and his owner and have appealed for help in tracking them down.
