OAKLAND PARK, BROWARD COUNTY FL - PIT BULL TYPE DOGS ATTACKED A MAN MOWING A YARD FOR A FRIEND

A bandaged Roger Butler stands in the Oakland Park yard where he said two dogs bit him Wednesday.

A man who was landscaping a yard in Oakland Park was attacked by 2 PIT BULL TYPE DOGS  Wednesday afternoon, police said.  About once a month Roger Butler, 64, stops by his friend, Connie Woods, house to mow her lawn.  He was in the middle of the job when 2 dogs charged him and bit him.

Oakland Park Fire and Rescue and the Broward Sheriff's Deputies responded to the incident when they received his 911 call.  Woods was furious when she watched paramedics tend to her injured friend.  She said that her neighbors have a whole bunch of dogs in the backyard. Animal Control was called to investigate.

Butler says that he wished he had had one of his tools from his van when the attack happened.

"Unfortunately, I couldn't get to my machete.  They wouldn't have to worry about animal control if I did,"  he said.
