Rochester police say the child and his father were visiting the owner of the pit bull on Saturday morning. They say right away everything was okay when the pit bull was licking the child and being playful. Police say it’s when a friend of the owner picked up the child, the dog bit and latched on to the child’s leg.
According to police, they say the pit bull latched on to the child’s leg for three minutes. Police say the child was transported by Gold Cross for heavy bleeding and experienced a serious leg injury.
Rochester Animal Control is investigating the incident. Police say they will determine what needs to be done with the dog.

To me, the mad, non-stop licking exhibited by many pitbulls is either:

Manic oral fixation, which is just one step away from BITING

Tasting to decide if it should take the next step and start BITING

or both.

I can't stand it when a dog licks me. I don't equate it as a sign of affection. More like infection. I would probably have a meltdown if a pit bull licked me.

It seems like nanny dog wasn't done nanny-ing.

It's very sad that children have to pay the price for being allowed near pit bulls.

The nutters always warn us their pit bulls will lick people to death. People should take this warning more seriously.
