FALL RIVER MA - A WOMAN'S PIT BULL JUMPED OUT OF THE TOP OF ITS CAGE AND MAULED A 58-YEAR-OLD MAN THAT LIVED IN THE HOME WITH HER - OFFICERS ARRIVED TO FIND A BLOODY MESS !

A 58-year-old man is in stable condition after a PIT BULL allegedly attacked him in Fall River.
On Oct. 28, officers responded to 656 Charles St. for a report of a dog attack.
When officers arrived, they found the victim as well as blood on the walls, according to police. 
The victim was covered in blood and had suffered several bite wounds, police said.
The victim was taken to St. Anne's Hospital and later to Rhode Island Hospital. 
Police say the dog's owner opened the top of its cage to begin cleaning it, but the dog jumped out and attacked the victim. 
The owner told police she got into a struggle with the dog, named Rex, but was able to pull the dog off of the victim.
The victim lives in the house, according to police. 
Animal control officers took custody of the dog and plan to investigate the incident.
