TOMS RIVER NJ - A DOG ATTACKED A 3-YEAR-OLD MONDAY NIGHT CAUSING SERIOUS INJURIES - THE CHILD WAS AIRLIFTED TO UNIVERSITY IN CAMDEN



A toddler is in the hospital after police say he or she was attacked by the family dog in Toms River, New Jersey Monday night.

Police say a family's pet MASTIFF  attacked the 3-year-old child inside their home on the 100 block of 4th Avenue around 8:15 p.m. The child was taken by medical helicopter to the Cooper Medical Center and is being treated for serious injuries.

Police have not yet revealed the child's exact condition or what will happen to the family dog.

A 3-year-old suffered serious injuries in A DOG attack Monday night, police spokesman Sgt. Ed Mooney confirmed.


The child was attacked at a home in the 100 block of 4th Avenue in Normandy Beach, Mooney said. Police were notified around 8:15 p.m. The child was AIRLIFTED  to Cooper University Hospital in Camden by the State Police SouthStar helicopter.

The incident was still under investigation Monday night and additional information was not immediately available, Mooney also said.
