WINCHENDON, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) - After a woman called police saying a dog was attacking her, a Winchendon Police officer shot and killed TWO PIT BULLS Saturday afternoon, officials say.
"We heard the ambulance and then we saw the police vehicle coming and then we heard three shots," said Beverly Cournoye, a neighbor
According to police, an officer and paramedics had to break through a locked door to get inside, and once inside the officer saw the woman, 39-year-old Denise Sliger, being mauled by a large grey pit bull. A second pit bull, police said, aggressively ran towards the officer who shot and killed the dog, fearing an imminent attack.
The first dog jumped off Sliger, who does not own the dogs, and aggressively approached the officer, who shot and killed that dog too, said police.
Right behind the house where the attack occurred is a relatively new development. Neighbors said they complained to police about the dogs.
"It doesn't surprise me, I've seen the dog, he's pretty much scarred all over this body," said Arthur Gagnon, a neighbor.
Another neighbor told FOX25 that one of the pit bulls was often loose in the neighborhood, and she filed a complaint after confronting the owner. She also said the dogs were not taken care of.
Sliger was taken to the hospital
and was in stable condition as of Monday night.

Police have not confirmed if charges will be filed against the dog owner.

Why couldn't she get her lovable pit bull to stop mauling her? Why did it take bullets to stop Papa Dog? Why was she begging police officers to shoot her precious pit bulls? Her pit bulls were doing what they were bred to do; show their love by ripping flesh off of their owner! Why would anyone deny their pit bull fulfilling their destiny? She sounds like a terrible pit bull owner to me. Sheesh! Those pit bulls could have been rehabbed and re-homed, but no! They got dirt napped. WAH!
