BRYAN TX - POLICE RESPONDED TO A REPORT OF 2 PIT BULLS ATTACKING A MAN - ON ARRIVING THEY FOUND THE MAN ON THE GROUND WITH MULTIPLE INJURIES INCLUDING AN ARTERIAL BLEED ON HIS ARM - HEROES - THEY APPLIED A TOURNIQUET AND SAVED HIS LIFE

Two Bryan Police Officers were being credited Tuesday with saving a man's life after he was attacked by 2 PIT BULLS.
Authorities said the officers responded to reports of an animal attack in the 3700 block of Old Kurten Road around  5am and arrived to find a 54-year-old man on the ground.  He had multiple cuts on his body and face and the officers noticed an  arterial bleed on the man's arm  and applied a tourniquet as well as pressure bandages to other wounds.
The emergency room doctor at St. Joseph Hospital said if it was not for the tourniquet, the man would have died due to the loss of blood.  The dogs were being held at the Bryan Animal  Shelter which is conducting an investigation into the attack.  The man's condition was not released late Tuesday.
