HOUSTON TX - A PIT BULL/MASTIFF MIX BEE-LINED A MOTHER WALKING WITH HER 1-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER IN A STROLLER - A HERO SUDDENLY APPEARS IN A WHITE SUV AND TRIED TO DRIVE THE DOG OFF - HE EVENTUALLY GOT OUT AND USED PEPPER SPRAY AND THEN MADE SURE THEY GOT HOME SAFELY
An afternoon stroll turned treacherous for a mother and her 1-year-old daughter, and the mother credits a stranger for saving their lives.
“I saw a large dog,” said Lisa Travin, while walking with her daughter Nuri in the 3000 of Ashford Trail Drive. “So I turned around and the dog took off at a full sprint towards us.”
The dog, which Travin described as a PIT BULL/MASTIFF MIX roaming through the neighborhood, appeared to have Travin and her daughter Nuri dead in its sights.
“I slammed this down like this just to cover her face,” Travin said, referring to the stroller cover. “I just tried to lay on her.” That’s when from out of nowhere, a man pulled up in a white SUV.
“This man just risked everything,” said Travin. “And the man with the SUV drove at an angle beeping his horn and the dog still continued to come after us. And so he hit the dog with his car and the dog wasn’t deterred. “So the man gets out of his vehicle with pepper spray and a glove and goes after the dog and the dog is aggressive. And he sprays the dog with pepper spray.
”The dog ran off but the man in the SUV drove next to Travin and Nuri until they made it back home safely. Then he was gone.“I just want to know who he is,” said Travin. She wants to thank him for standing up for them without a moment to spare. “This man doesn’t know what he’s done for us,” Travin said.
“This is our whole world, this little baby, and we’re so grateful.”
