Tori and her older sister were playing in the backyard in Phoenix Arizona with their 100 lb AmBull and three small dogs, when Kane suddenly attacked her on November 5, 2007. Tori's family had adopted Kane about 5 months earlier, in June, through an unnamed party. That person had adopted the dog in April from the Arizona Humane Society (AHS). Three behaviorists had evaluated the dog before releasing it. The dog "showed no signs of arousal and no aggression whatsoever while in AHS custody," stated AHS. When the police arrive they found the dog laying beside her dead body and when it became aggressive they shot it 7 times before it died.
