A woman and her young daughter were attacked by their FOUR PIT BULLS Friday afternoon in their backyard. Officials at the scene said the woman had taken the four dogs to the backyard when they began attacking her for an unknown reason.
The woman suffered several lacerations on her body and her daughter suffered a cut along her face. Neighbors jumped the fence to help get the dogs off and the woman and girl to safety. Both were taken to North East Baptist hospital for treatment but they are both expected to recover.
“I was stunned because I didn't think the dogs would turn on them,” said neighbor Lucille Garcia.
Garcia said the dogs often come out to the front, sometimes escaping the backyard by digging holes.
“I don't like coming out when they come out,” she said. “I have two small dogs that I have to bring out here and it kind of scares me to bring them out here.”
All four dogs were taken by animal control but officials at the scene did not say what would happen to the dogs.
