SHAKER HEIGHTS OH - PIT BULL VICTIM SPEAKS BEFORE CITY COUNCIL: "ALL DOGS ARE NOT EQUAL IN THE DAMAGE THEY CAN DO"

Published on Nov 9, 2015
Hordes of people showed up with strong opinions on a proposed ban on pit bulls at Shaker Heights City Council Monday:

Victim describes pit bull attack: "It was not a bite, it was an attack. No warning, no growling. The dog kept coming and coming. It took 2 full grown adults to stop the attack. Pit bulls are weapons. All dogs are NOT equal when one is pure muscle. Thank God my daughter was not with me. Thank you to the city council for being proactive."

Don't wait for a victim. PREVENT THE DEED!

What are the consequences if pit bulls are banned? A few irresponsible owners will have their pit bulls grandfathered in, have to get their wiggle butts spayed or neutered, have to properly contain nanny dog, get insurance coverage in case there's an attack, and microchip their tutu wearing therapy dogs.

What are the consequences if pit bulls are not banned? Random attacks on people and pets, resulting in death or serious injury, hospitalizations, life flights, shooting deaths of pit bulls, over-breeding of pit bulls, euthanasia of pit bulls at an alarming rate, vet bills, medical bills, traumatized victims and witnesses, grieving family members, is there anything I'm missing?

I can easily see how banning pit bulls protects EVERYONE and EVERYTHING.

I don't see how allowing pit bulls protects anything other than a perceived "right" that all nutters think they have.
