ST. HENRY, MERCER COUNTY OH - A FAMILY'S PIT BULL ATTACKED THEIR 2-YEAR-OLD GIRL CAUSING SEVERE INJURIES

2-y-o girl mauled by dog in Mercer County

A child was seriously injured Monday when she was mauled by a dog the police had to put down in Mercer County.  St. Henry Police  responded to an emergency call at 3:45pm to a home in the 4000 block of Lange Road according to a release from the Sheriff's Office.

A mother reported her 2-year-old daughter was being attacked by the family dog which police identified as a PIT BULL.  The officer "put down" the dog after it charged him.  A rescue squad transferred the mother and child to the hospital for treatment of severe injuries inflicted by the dog.

The victims' conditions were not immediately available.  The incident remains under investigation.

It was not a pit bull

The child was by the food dish

The owners neglected the pit bull

The pit bull was neutered yesterday

All dogs bite

It's all in how you raise them

My pit bull has never bitten me, but my "insert other breed here" has bitten me 5 times every day for the last 2 years

My pit bull is a therapy dog

When are we going to stop with the excuses, and start with breed specific legislation? It's almost ALWAYS a pit bull. Young children are being harmed by these pseudo dogs at an alarming rate, and some children are killed.

THERE IS NO EXCUSE! PROTECT HUMANS! PIT BULLS ARE NOT NECESSARY TO SOCIETY!
