Four people were taken to hospital after a pit bull launched a frenzied attack that did not even spare the animals owners.
It was believed the dog attacked after a woman who was known to the owners came to their house in Klemzig, Adelaide, and an argument erupted shortly after 1.30pm on Sunday.
The pure-bred pit bull terrier attacked the woman, the couple who owned the dog, as well as the father of the female owner as he tried to step in, reported Nine news.
Three of the victims were rushed to Royal Adelaide hospital by ambulance, while the woman who visited to the house sought treatment at the hospital on her own, the report said.
‘There was a lot of yelling and screaming and things bashing around, I was sort of in the room away from it all,' said Matthew Ward, who witnessed the attack.
The dog allegedly reacted when the argument escalated.
‘It came to a bit of a fight in the hallway, that’s when the dog got a bit excited and started trying to eat everybody,’ said Mr Ward.
BUT IT IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE DOG HAS ATTACKED ITS FEMALE OWNER.
A fight between the female owner and her partner also resulted in the dog ‘ripping her arm open.’
The dog was taken by authorities and will be destroyed.
Many people who know the dog are saddened by the situation claiming the pit bull only acts aggressively when provoked in what may appear to be aggressive situations.
‘I’ve known him since he was a puppy and he’s not like this and generally he’s a loving dog, he’s a loving normal dog.’
A police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the matter is being investigated.
