ENSLEY FL - AN UNNAMED BREED OF DOG ATTACKED DESTINEY BUTLER - "IT WOULD NOT LET ME GO...IT JUST KEPT BITING AND BITING AND BITING" - THEN A HERO CAME ...A NEIGHBOR SHE DID NOT KNOW CAME RUNNING WITH A RAKE AND ALSO USED SOME BRICKS AND DIDN'T STOP 'PRYING THE PIT OFF' AND PROBABLY SAVED HER LIFE!!!

(WEAR) Destiney Butler is heavily bandaged and very sore after surviving a dog attack. She told Channel Three's Jackalyn Kovak she feels lucky she wasn't killed.
"THE DOG just wouldn't let go," Butler recalled. "It went from here to here to here to there. He just kept biting, biting and biting," she said.

Chris Stallworth was raking leaves several houses away when he heard a snarling canine and a woman's frantic screams.
"The dog took her down to the ground and started snatching her around. So I ran over and took a rake and started prying the dogs mouth open. And when the dogs mouth opened it latched onto her arm," Stallworth told Channel Three News.
Stallworth said he used his rake, that now bears bite marks, to pry the dog's mouth open. When that did not work, he used a brick that he smashed over its head.

Butler remembers being unable to fend the animal off, falling to the ground and the Good Samaritan who came to her rescue.
"He really tried, he did everything he could to get the dog off me. Because he wouldn't stop hitting the dog," Butler said.
The young woman's injuries include bites to her arms, legs, face and some tendon damage.

"I thank him so much. Because if it had not been for him, I can't say I would be here today. I mean it was all Ironically, Stallworth had planned to leave moments before and go to the store with relatives. He doesn't think the fact that he remained behind was a coincidence.
"It's a spur of the moment thing, I didn't think about it at all at the time. So it had to be a spiritual meaning behind pushing me to go help her."
Butler said she does not know when she will be able to leave the hospital. She said she will forever be grateful to the stranger who was there.

The animal is at the Escambia County Animal Shelter under quarantine. Its owner has been identified but not yet located.

If a "dog" bites and it won't let go, it's a pit bull.

If a "dog" bites and it won't stop, it's a pit bull.

If a "dog" bites for no reason, it's a pit bull.

If a "dog" bites and it puts you in the hospital with multiple injuries, it's a pit bull.

If a "dog" bites and puts you in a grave, it's a pit bull.
