Mattawa OPP says charges have been laid against two people believed to be the parents of a small child attacked by a dog at the end of November.
Police say 23-year-old Danielle Murphy and 30-year-old Collin Walters have been arrested. They are charged with failure to provide necessaries of life, obstructing a peace officer, public mischief and failing to prevent biting or attacking of a person.
Both accused were released from police custody and are to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on January 5, 2016.
Through the investigation police learned the incident happened at a residence in Papineau-Cameron Township and the dog has since been put down.
ORIGINAL REPORTS HAD THE CHILD BEING ATTACKED WHILE ITS MOTHER WAS WALKING TO MATTAWA'S SANTA PARADE.
