PORT HURON MI - A WOMAN WAS SEVERELY INJURED IN A BACKYARD BY A PIT BULL

A woman was severely injured in a dog attack in Port Huron this afternoon.
Rescue crews responded to 1721 10th St. shortly before 4:45 p.m.
A female victim was taken to Lake Huron Medical Center with extensive injuries, said Port Huron police Lt. Roger Wesch.
The attack happened in the back yard of the residence.
A PIT BULL was removed from the home and will be placed in quarantine at animal control, Wesch said.
Further information about the woman or her condition were not immediately available.
Tracy Weaver, who lives in the neighborhood, did not know the woman.
"We've had issues with those dogs, they get out all the time," she said.
The property is listed in county records as being owned by Blue River Housing.
