“I was sitting out the back by the pool. I thought it was a bit of a domestic, and it just went on and you could hear someone was in pain. I actually thought a woman was being assaulted or raped. Then I saw her struggling to get out the sliding door, screaming and carrying on and then I saw THIS DOG —I think it was a staffie — hanging off her arm. IT WAS AIRBORNE, MUNCHING ON HER. She was swinging around. I took off. By the time I got there, she’d managed to get outside and prise it off her arm but it was coming at her again. She managed to shut it outside but the dog was “hellbent on getting back in” - this dog was going off and there was blood everywhere. I grabbed a stick to smack it if it came near while I called police — another neighbour called paramedics."
“It had a bark at me and I gave it a whack across the face — and made a scarier noise than it did and it cowered in the corner. I grabbed what looked like the dog’s lead hanging up on the wall and somehow managed to loop it around its head while prodding it with the stick before leading it outside and giving it to a Gold Coast City council staffer.

WHO HAD BANDAGING ON HER FOREARM. APPARENTLY, 24 HOURS BEFORE, THIS DOG HAD GONE FOR THE DAUGHTER AND THEY HAD TAKEN IT TO THE POUND TO GET IT DESTROYED -- BUT THE POUND WAS CLOSED.
