FORT PIERCE, ST. LUCIE COUNTY FL - A ROAMING PIT BULL CHARGED AT A WOMAN PUSHING A STROLLER - AN OFFICER SHOT IT

A  PIT BULL  had to be shot after charging at a woman in Fort Pierce on Tuesday afternoon.

Animal control officials were called to the 2900 block of Juanita Avenue in Fort Pierce about 12:30pm Tuesday after getting a call about a pit bull roaming a neighborhood.
Once on scene, Animal control had trouble getting the dog under control and deputies with St. Lucie County had to be called to assist.
When deputies arrived on scene the pit bull continued to be aggressive and charged at a woman pushing a stroller.
A deputy witnessed the incident and had to shoot the pit bull.  Animal control took the dog to a local vet where it died.
St. Lucie county deputies continue to investigate this incident.

Oh, how sad. A pit bull didn't get to maul anyone before being dispatched. Now it won't earn its angel wings and tutu. It's not nice when people don't let pit bulls fulfill their destiny.
