GREENEVILLE TN - A FAMILY'S PET PIT BULL "CAME IN FROM OUTSIDE" AND BIT A 7-YEAR-OLD GIRL THAT WAS ASLEEP IN HER FACE

A 7-year-old girl asleep in her bed Saturday night was attacked by her family's pet pit bull dog and injured, sheriff's Deputy Edwin Swatsell said in a report.

The girl was taken to the emergency department of Takoma Regional Hospital, where father Earl Stanley told deputies that Iva Stanley was sleeping in her bed at 566 Stephen Brooks Road when the dog "came in from outside and bit the child while she was still asleep," the report said.

The girl suffered lacerations to her eye, cheek and jaw areas, the report said.
The dog was placed in a cage and the father brought the child to the hospital.

So now sleeping has to be added to the pit bull trigger list.
Or is someone going to suggest that a few weeks ago she ate something like beef ribs and that is what made the dog attack her.....

We could just simplify the list and say living life is a trigger.

Pit bulls are like guns, they have triggers.

So yes, please ad sleeping to the list of many triggers that pit bulls perceive as a threat that must be annihilated. I've never in all my wildest dreams would have imagined that a sleeping child would be a target. Pit bulls never cease to amaze me.
