(WTNH)- A Hartford police officer got more than he bargained for when he responded to a report of a serious assault on Park Street on Sunday night.
Police say the officer, whose name has not been released, sustained a dog bite while on the second floor of the building. The incident happened after officers discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound on the building’s second floor landing. The officers provided aid to the victim.
No other information has been released on that part of the story. The dog that bit the officer was a PIT BULL. The officer sustained bites to his left hand and wrist and was taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment.
