LINDA, YUBA COUNTY CA - TYLER TRAMMELL HUSTON, 9, MAULED TO DEATH BY PIT BULLS ON JANUARY 3, WAS LAID TO REST TODAY

VIDEO

Flowers surrounded a small blue casket as loved ones cried and hugged at the funeral for Tyler Huston.
The 9-year-old was killed last week when three pit bulls mauled him.
During the funeral, his foster mom expressed grief and frustration.
"I just know something went terribly wrong," she said.
Hours before Huston was laid to rest, his father John spoke about his love for the boy who he was unable to care for.
"I loved my son very much, I gave him everything I didn't have when I was growing up," Huston said.
Huston stood by attorney Moseley Collins after filing a claim against Sacramento County Child Protective Services
Next month, Collins plans to file lawsuits against CPS and Tyler's foster care.
Collins says because of Huston's mental disabilities, CPS took custody of Tyler two years ago.
The fourth-grader was killed while staying the weekend at his half sister Alexandria Griffin-Heady's trailer in Yuba County.
Collins says that should never been allowed.
"They knew, or should have known, there was no working bathroom there, they knew, or should have known, that the 24-year-old girl was gonna be gone and leave the boy alone with these dogs," said Collins.
Griffin-Heady's attorney tells FOX40 she had been working with CPS to adopt Huston and that she always made sure the boy was safe.
Collins feels Huston's death highlights major flaws in the system.
"We ought to change the law to make CPS more responsible and more accountable for the children they take care of," said Collins.
Amid the conflict surrounding this loss, family friends and teachers are trying to come to grips with the tragic end to a short life.
The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is still looking into whether criminal charges will be filed.
CPS tells us they are working with investigators.

What was the point of having visitation if Alexandria was going to leave her little brother trailer alone (can't say home because it was not a house, nor his "home") anyway? More CPS negligence? Not checking conflicting schedules? Where exactly did Alexandria work? I'd love to know where she was early that morning.

Normally, I say Rest In Peace, but it's a little hard to say that when the child was a mauling victim. He did not deserve his untimely death. I feel better saying that.

Alexandria made a youtube tribute to Tyler. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zMLzA0rXi4

"Published on Jan 10, 2016
On January 3rd 2016 made a choice, nd that choice has become the greatest mistake of my life. Tyler was not just my brother, he was becoming my son."

If you click "show more" she's got quite a delusional apology.

This girl probably wanted to prove to the world how trustworthy her "wolf pack" was, and intentionally used her brother as her example. This is why I believe in Breed Specific Legislation 100%. It stops people from experimenting. We're not all that stupid that we need to learn our lessons the hard way. I'm sick of people getting away with believing the lies the pit bull apologists spew. The "Haters" as Alexandria called us, are not about hate, but about PREVENTION! Tyler's death was preventable. Tyler's death is not an isolated incident. No other child should be killed by domesticated animals. What kind of barbaric society is this, where we allow this to continue?

No more victims!

Until the pit bull apologists can stop lying, we should set the record straight, insist on BSL, and not allow one more child to be killed in the most brutal, horrific way. Pit bull lives are not more important than any child's life!
