COUNCIL BLUFFS IA - POLICE SERVED A SEARCH WARRANT ON A MAN REPORTED TO HAVE AN UNLICENSED PIT BULL - THEY FOUND THE PIT AS WELL AS 10 BOA CONSTRICTORS IN HIS HOME


A Council Bluffs man was cited for having dangerous animals in his house.

The police area representative unit of the Council Bluffs Police Department was called to the home of Jeremy Maschmeier, 36, after receiving complaints that Maschmeier had an unlicensed pit bull.


At 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, with a search warrant, police officers entered Maschmeier’s home in the 2100 block of Avenue C, and found the dog as well as 10 BOA CONSTRICTORS.
Police seized the illegal animals.

Mashmeier can appeal for the return of the animals when he appears in court Feb. 24.

According to Council Bluffs municipal code, an animal with a propensity, tendency or disposition to attack, to cause injury to or to other wise endanger the safety of humans or other domestic animals is considered dangerous.
