(KRON) — Police are searching for the owner of a dog that attacked a man in San Francisco.
A man was seriously injured when a dog attacked him at Golden Gate Park while he was playing fetch with his own dog, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
The dog bit the victim on the right calf as he was reaching down to grab a ball. The man fell over and put his left arm up in defense. The dog then clamped down on his forearm.
The man began to punch the dog to get him off of his arm. The dog then bit his right forearm.
A woman who owns the dog was able to gain control of her dog and stopped the attack, police said.
The woman then fled the scene with her dog before providing the victim with any contact information,
The suspect is described as a Hispanic or White female, 5’3”-5’6″ tall and weighing 200 pounds, according to police. She has short black hair and wore thin-framed rectangular shaped eyeglasses.
The dog is described as an 80-pound gray mix with a patch of white on his chest. The dog pictured is NOT the actual dog. The victim submitted the photo as the dog looks similar to the one that attacked him.
Police said she fled the scene in a 2006 white Ford Explorer with a license plate ending in B694.
