SYDENHAM, VICTORIA AU - A 2-YEAR-OLD GIRL HAD TO UNDERGO SURGERY AFTER BEING ATTACKED IN THE FACE BY A BULLDOG IN TILLMAN PARK

The dog, believed to be a  BULLDOG,  has since been put down.

Police say the little girl was with her mother at Tillman Park when the unleashed canine attacked her at about 7.30pm.
She was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to the Sydney Children’s Hospital after suffering serious injuries to her eyelid.
It is understood the surgery was successful and the little girl is due to be released from hospital on Monday.
Police also spoke with the dog’s owner.
"Officers spoke with a 37-year-old man who confirmed he was the owner of the dog involved in the incident, believed to be a bulldog," police said in a statement.
"The dog was later taken to a local vet by its owner and destroyed."
