HARRISON TOWNSHIP PA - A PIT BULL BEING WALKED BY A MAN LUNGED OUT AND GRABBED A TINY YORKIE "CHELSEA" PLAYING IN HER FRONT YARD AND CRUSHED HER SPINE HEAD AND FACE SO SEVERELY SHE HAD TO BE PUT DOWN

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Harrison Township Police are investigating after a dog was allegedly mauled by a  PIT BULL.
A woman claims her dog was attacked Wednesday and the owner simply walked away, saying, “I don’t know what to tell you.”
Sarah Millett says her five-pound Yorkie was viciously attacked by a passing pit bull in front of her home on Hemlock Street.
Millett watched in horror as the attack that left 9-year-old Chelsea paralyzed. As a result of the attack, she had to put her dog down.
“The dog dropped Chelsea in the street and I knew she wasn’t going to make it,” Millett said.
She said they were outside enjoying the afternoon and her kids were playing in a neighbor’s yard. Chelsea was not on a leash and walked to the end of the sidewalk, like she did every day.
This time, a man, she’s never seen was walking a large tan pit ball. As they passed her house, the pit bull allegedly grabbed Chelsea in one, quick swoop.
“She had holes in her spine and her head and her face and she was paralyzed,” Millett said.
She said the man tried punching the pit bull to get the dog to release the Yorkie, but she said what added to the traumatic experience is that the man just left as Chelsea lay bleeding in the street.
“An accident is an accident. I fully understand that, but to walk away. What kind of human being are you? WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR POSSESSION THAT WOULD JUST AGGRESSIVELY ATTACK SOMETHING THAT MOVES PAST IT?  And I just thank God it wasn’t one of my kids,” she said.
Millett said it is a very quiet, family-oriented neighborhood. She believes that someone out there may know who the man is, or may have recognized him or the dog.
If you have any information, you’re asked to call Harrison Township Police.

A very similar incident happened to me on Saturday March 12 in Weirton WV. I was taking my two little dogs for a walk and a Pit Mix broke out of its harness and at me and my dogs. I had picked my dogs up and was holding the dogs in my arms when the big dog wripped my 7lb Maggie ( a Maltese Papillon mix) right out of my arms and mauled her to death right in front of my eyes. The dog owner, a Mark Richard Hulburd just stood there and didn't even chase his dog. When he finally arrived and was able to get its dog jaws off of my Maggie, he layer on top of his dog and said "I love you Buster". He then took his dog and tried to leave. My neighbor called the police and I was able to get his name and address. The dog is quarantined in its own home for 10 days. We are waiting to see what happens through Hancock County court systems. Due to the antiquated WV state laws, the dog may not be put down. We found out the next day that this was not the dogs first offense.
