(WKRN) – A Maury County woman says she was attacked by three dogs in her own backyard on Saturday.
Teresa Humphrey was left with about 10 wounds, some so deep her muscle and bone were left exposed.
After losing so much blood, she was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center via LifeFlight, where she was stitched up and bandaged before being released several hours later.
Humphrey told News 2 she saw two of the dogs and was on her way to tell their owner when one bit her in the leg. She continued going when another lunged at her, leading the other two to join.
“I was fighting ’em as best I could, trying to keep from falling down ’cause I knew if I fell down they would have gotten my face and everything else ,” she said.
She also said it happened not far from where three of her seven grandchildren were playing, and the dogs have threatened an attack before.
The 53-year-old explained she was terrified for her life, afraid she was going to die, and feared for her grandchildren’s safety.
“Right now I don’t even want to go back in my field; that’s how terrified I was,” she explained. “I couldn’t do nothing [sic]. It’s hard to fight one, let alone three.”
Humphrey told News 2 she believes the dogs, which she says are PIT BULLS, were picked up by animal control.
Her husband also told News 2 they plan to press charges.

Update: The owner of the ugly bulldogs is being charged with a felony. GOOD!

"The dogs’ owner, Jose Ocambo, was arrested and charged with a felony, having an animal running at large with bodily injury. He was released after posting $20,000 bond.
“It’s very important for people who live in the country to keep their pets up, not let them run free,” Rowland said. “If an incident with a pet causes bodily injury, the owner will be facing serious charges.”
