PINOLE CA - A 40-YEAR-OLD WOMAN WAS ATTACKED BY HER OWN PIT BULL LEAVING HER WITH SERIOUS INJURIES TO HER FACE, ARMS AND LEGS

(CBS SF) — A woman was attacked by HER OWN PIT BULL in Pinole Sunday, leaving her with serious injuries.
The fire department responded to reports of a pit bull attacking a woman at a home on Silverado Drive in Pinole just before 10 a.m. Sunday, and found a 40-year-old woman suffering serious injuries to her face, arms, and legs.
A medical helicopter transported the woman to John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek.
A second ambulance transported another resident of the home, but it was unclear if their injuries were suffered in the attack.
Pinole police officers secured the dog and took it into custody.

We're always relieved when a pit bull type explodes its genes on its owner instead of on an innocent passer-by. All the same, WE ARE PAYING FOR THIS. The medi-flight, the surgeries, then the law suits this idiot will file to get her pittie-poo back if it's declared dangerous.

Even when pit bulls are good enough to attack only their owners, it's still coming out of our pockets. This alone is reason enough to ban this class of dogs.

I don't mind paying taxes that help support decent people who can't support themselves. I strongly object to paying for these pit bull people who voluntarily run up medical bills into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. The more because these people figured it would be someone else (most likely a child) who ended up in the medical helicopter, and they didn't care one bit.

If we're not going to ban this type of dog, then I'd like to see a law excluding these owners' pit bull inflicted medical bills from all insurance and other medical aid policies. No pit bull owner has ever contributed to the medical or veterinarian bills for innocent victims of pit bulls. We shouldn't contribute a penny towards the bills when it's their own ass that gets mauled.

That is an excellent point Sweetie Pie! Why should we have to pay for a deliberate choice?

Whenever a nutter gets attacked by their own loving nanny dog, my sarcasm comes out in full force. What did she do to provoke the pit bull? She must have trained it to attack. I'm sure the pit bull had never done this before. The pit bull was trying to lick her to death, and got a little carried away. Blame the deed, not the breed. Pit bulls are just like regular dogs.
