ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A woman suffered severe injuries and her dog was killed when they were attacked by two dogs in St. Joseph Township on Monday afternoon.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says Julie Lingl, 61, was walking her small dog on the shoulder of Frontage Road when she passed a fenced yard containing two boxers.
The dogs jumped the fence and mauled the woman's dog to death.
When Lingl tried to recover her dog from the road she was attacked by the dogs.
The woman suffered severe injuries to her legs, and puncture wounds to her head, face, neck, back and arms.
Lingl was rushed to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Investigators say the yard the dogs left is a residence owned by Michelle and Rak Tray.
The dogs were seized by the sheriff's office and quarantined pending the outcome of the investigation.

ST. JOSEPH TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A woman is recovering from severe injuries inflicted in a dog attack that killed her small pet in Stearns County.
Sheriff’s officials say the woman was walking her small dog along a road in St. Joseph Township Monday afternoon when TWO BOXERS jumped a fence and attacked her dog, killing it.
Authorities say she tried to pick up her dog, but the boxers began attacking her. She suffered severe injuries to her legs. She also has puncture wounds and cuts to her face, head, arms, hands and back. The woman was rushed to St. Cloud Hospital.
Sheriff’s deputies have seized and quarantined the boxers.
