An elderly woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries after being mauled by several dogs in Thurston County Sunday evening.
The 92-year-old woman was visiting a neighbor who was not home at the time.  The neighbor provides the woman with day to day care giving tasks so it was not uncommon for the woman to enter the home if her neighbor wasn’t present.
After entering the home around 5:00 p.m., the woman was attacked by up to four dogs inside.  Only one of the dogs belonged to the homeowner, the other three were there because the homeowner was dog-sitting for a relative.

While the woman was being mauled by the dogs, the homeowner came home and was able to get the dogs off of her and call 9-1-1.
The female victim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries due to the dog mauling.
Animal services have also responded to the scene to take the dogs into quarantine.
Thurston County Sheriff’s office describes the dogs as –  one adult male PIT BULL/ LAB MIX, one adult female PIT BULL/HEELER MIX, one juvenile male PIT BULL/LAB/HEELER MIX, and one female PIT BULL/LAB/HEELER MIX.
According to the sheriff’s office at this time there is no criminal case pending as a result of what they are calling a “tragic event.”

Of course it's a tragic event when you think a pit bull mauling is an isolated incident, or when you compare pit bulls to normal dogs. But when you accept pit bulls for what they are, potential killing machines, it's not a tragic event. It's a preventable event THROUGH BSL for the uneducated, or the ones that refuse to accept reality.

Another preventable "tragic event" brought to you by the pit bull lobby. Because enabling pit bulls to do what they were bred to do, is the right thing for America.
