A child was bitten by A DOG early Saturday afternoon in Fallston and taken to a regional trauma center, according to emergency officials in Harford County.
The child, a 6-year-old boy, was bitten shortly after 1 p.m. at the Humane Society of Harford County in the 200 block of Connolly Road in Fallston, according to the Harford County Md Fire & EMS PIO Media Page on Facebook.
The injuries were serious, but not life-threatening, and the child was being flown by Medevac helicopter to a regional trauma center, according to the Facebook post.
No further information was available.

They have 18 available dogs up for adoption listed on their web page. 14 look like and are listed as some sort of pit bull mix. 3 other large dogs with other descriptions, but 2 of those I doubt. 2 small dogs aren't capable of sending a kid on a life flight. I wonder which of these put that child in the hospital????
As per the Harford County Humane Society's FB page, the dog in question was an Irish Wolfhound mix.

That's what they say...would like to see a picture of the Irish Wolfhound mix...What was it mixed with???
I'm not sure why that really matters, but since the family has requested that their privacy be respected, I'm going to guess that we'll never know. I would also guess that this dog is, at the very least, no longer available for adoption, so you won't be find its picture on the website. There is no more information available on this, so all that is known is that a 6 y/o boy was bitten by dog while at this shelter. His injuries are described as "serious but not life-threatening". Any other speculation would be irresponsible.
