FLAGSTAFF AZ - A FAMILY DOG THAT HAD NOT SHOWN AGGRESSION BEFORE ATTACKED THEIR 8-YEAR-OLD BOY
A Flagstaff child ended up in the hospital this week after THE FAMILY DOG attacked him.
According to the police report, FPD officers were dispatched to Flagstaff Medical Center at 8:20 p.m. Monday for an 8-year-old patient with multiple dog bites. The boy's mother told police she was making dinner at their home on East Arrowhead Avenue when the dog attacked the child in another room. The woman said the dog had not shown aggression before and she was not sure what caused it to bite.
She pulled the dog off her son, put the animal outside and then rushed the child to the hospital. The boy was treated for bite marks and punctures on his arm, chest and abdomen. The nurse treating him said he would have some bruising but should heal just fine.
The mother asked officers to take the dog to the Coconino Humane Association. No criminal charges were filed.
