LUMBERTON NC - A FAMILY DOG ATTACKED A 4-YEAR-OLD BOY IN THE FACE - THE CHILD WAS TRANSPORTED TO NORTH CAROLINA CHILDREN'S

A 4-year-old Lumberton boy was hospitalized after being bitten in the face by A FAMILY DOG, according to the Lumberton Police Department.
The current condition of the child, whose name was not included in an incident report, is unknown. He was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center and later transported to North Carolina Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill.
According to the Police Department, the attack happened in the back yard of a home on the 500 block of 11th Street at about 3 p.m. on March 26. The dog, whose breed was not listed in an incident report, was chained at the time of the attack.
The dog was taken by Animal Control into custody.
Investigators from the Lumberton Police Department Juvenile Division along with the department’s Animal Control officer are investigating the incident. Anyone with information can contact Sgt. Pete Locklear at 910-671-3845.
