MAUMEE OH - A PIT BULL MIX BEING WALKED ON A LEASH BY A YOUNG GIRL WHO COULDN'T CONTROL IT ATTACKED AN ELDERLY COCKAPOO TAKING ITS USUAL WALK WITH ITS OWNER - LYING NUTTER/PIT OWNER GOT INVOLVED AND ACCUSED THE ELDERLY COCKAPOO OF BEING VICIOUS AND BITING HER DAUGHTER
An elderly dog got bitten and then was accused of being vicious and quarantined.
Susan Rodgers said that's not what happened at all. She said she was walking her dog Libby through her Maumee neighborhood when she saw a PIT BULL MIX eyeing her cockapoo. The next thing she knew, the pit-mix was pulling the young girl holding his leash, to get at Libby.
The dog bit libbey from behind. Rodgers said she had to pound the dog in the head to get him off her dog. What happened next, shocked Rodgers.
She said the pit-mix owner called the police-accusing Libby of biting her daughter.
Libbey was taken to the vet to address her wounds and quarantined for the bite. But upon further investigation, the police report says they determined Libby did not bite the little girl and they closed the case.
"She's just a friendly - she loves other dogs, she loves people, she doesn't have a mean bone in her body, she wouldn't know how to fight or to protect herself," Rodgers said.
"I was terrified-just terrified-and so was she. It was a horrible experience. "
Libby was immediately taken off quarantine. She just had her staples removed from her injury on Thursday.
